HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT CLUSTER
CLUSTER HEAD: Vacant
SECRETARY TREASURER: Alexandra Marie N. Sumaway
The Health and Environment Cluster is a community of four advocacy related student organizations that present avenues to foster logical and proactive environmentalism, medical career facilitation and peer counseling for both the individual and the community. We share one vision towards nation building through service provision, advocacy development and relevant collaborations with organizations and departments within and outside the Ateneo – towards reaching a more sustainable world with better peoples. We are composed of the Ateneo Environmental Science Society (AESS), Loyola Mountaineers (LM), Ateneo Peers (PEERS) and the Pre-Medical Society to the Ateneo (PMSA).
The Health and Environment Cluster envisions an environmentally sustainable world with physically, mentally and emotionally healthy peoples and communities.
The Health and Environment Cluster strives to foster individuals and communities who exercise logical and proactive environmentalism and holistic lifestyle practices to become leaders in the field of health and environment through conscious involvement both inside and outside the Ateneo.
Our initiatives include the Health and Environment Cluster Lifestyle and Sustainability Card, a privilege card for all members of the HEC organizations to promote companies and brands that provide sustainable health and environment products and services.
The HEC Week, a weeklong collaborative effort from the HEC organizations and different Loyola Schools departments to showcase their advocacies within the Ateneo. The event promotes the activities and initiatives from each organization and the HEC Olympics culminating activity.
ANECON 2016 is an environmental summit hosted by the Ateneo de Manila University to coincide with the Conference of the Parties (COP21) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change held in France on December 2015. ANECON 2016 would be done in partnership with the Sanggunian ng mga Paaralang Loyola ng Ateneo de Manila to promote environmental awareness and cultivate innovative ideas toward proactive environmentalism and climate change from the youth within and outside the Loyola Schools Community.
