The Council of Organization of the Ateneo (COA) is the sole, autonomous, confederation of all duly accredited student organizations in the Ateneo. It is a community of Ateneo student organizations united in developing Ateneans to become active, competent, and holistically formed leaders who initiate positive changes within the Ateneo community and in the greater society through the Ignatian tradition of service and excellence. COA, recognizing the rightful and vital role of the Filipino youth in national efforts to advance and preserve freedom, democracy, human rights, national dignity and interest, social justice, unity, peace, and development in Philippine society, continually provides creative avenues for students to respond to the call for nation building though the activities of its member organizations, as well as its own unique projects as a unifying body. Simply put COA calls for leadership formation through quality organizations.
As a representative body, COA defends and advances the general welfare of its member organizations. As an administrative body, COA establishes essential, effective, and adequate support services that ensure smooth operations cycle of the Council as well as individual member organizations. As a formative body, COA fosters the development of its member organizations towards the holistic formation of their members through council-wide integrative projects and through strategy-realignment from the part of its member organizations.
Professional in work, person-oriented, outward in service, formative in leadership and result oriented. These are just some of the qualities seen in a COA member.
